Promoting East-West Co-operation through Personal Meetings
Stuttgart, 20 January 2025 – In a significant move to strengthen East-West cooperation, a delegation from the historic Ukrainian city of Khotyn, led by Mayor Andrii Dranchuk, visited the Steinbeis headquarters in Stuttgart. The visit aimed to present Khotyn as a prime investment destination, highlighting the city’s strategic advantages for international businesses.
During an engaging presentation, Mayor Dranchuk underscored Khotyn’s unique selling points: its strategic geographical location, well-developed infrastructure, and ample availability of land for industrial and logistical purposes. The meeting marked the beginning of a closer dialogue between the Steinbeis Transfer Center for East-West Cooperation and the city of Khotyn.
The collaboration is already set to progress further. Next week, a Steinbeis team, including Roxana Boboruta and Jürgen Raizner, will travel to Khotyn to deepen discussions on potential partnerships. Accompanying them will be an investor from Baden-Württemberg, who is exploring the establishment of a metalworking factory in Ukraine. The trip will also include visits to other prospective sites across the country
Khotyn: A Rising Star for Industrial Investment in Ukraine
Nestled in the picturesque Chernivtsi region of Western Ukraine, Khotyn is a city with a compelling mix of historical charm and economic promise. Known for its iconic fortress, the city is now positioning itself as a strategic hub for international business.
Located along the scenic banks of the Dnister River, Khotyn boasts excellent transport links. Two major highways traverse the area, and its proximity to the borders of Romania and Moldova makes it a critical gateway for cross-border trade. With just a 70-kilometer distance to the regional capital, Chernivtsi, and seamless access to rail and air transport facilities, Khotyn is ideally placed for global commerce.
The city’s population of approximately 18,500 includes a significant pool of skilled professionals, offering a competitive advantage for investors. One of the city’s flagship initiatives is the planned development of the “Khotyn-Invest” industrial park. This project is designed to attract companies in key sectors such as metal processing, machinery manufacturing, textile production, and logistics.
Khotyn also offers ready-to-use industrial spaces, modern administrative support, and a proactive economic development agency eager to facilitate foreign investment.
